Woodworking 101
A few weeks ago I realized that many of the projects we document here on the blog use a wide variety of terminology strictly related to woodworking, such as dado, dovetail joints, loose tenon, butt joint and half-laps.
Rather than assume the readers of this blog are all fellow woodworkers who understand the jargon or leave other visitors in the dark as to the exact details of our craft, we have decided to add some educational material to this blog. We will strive to make all the Woodworking 101 blog entries informative, interesting (we hope), and easy to understand. There is no need to overcomplicate things as this is an ancient art. We will tackle one aspect of fine furniture building at a time, and if possible, tie it in to a current project that we are building in the shop.
So, sit back, relax, and enjoy.
