To make a long story short, this is what happens when I design a piece on the fly. I had a bunch of small pieces of Birch, Peruvian Walnut, and Sapele laying around the shop, and burning desire to build something. The inspiration for this piece is two-fold, the top is an irregular octagon-like a misshapen stop sign-while the legs, which are sometimes the hardest part of a table for me to design, mimic those of a praying mantis. Which is why this table is affectionately referred to as the “Bug Table.”
