At The Shop (10/10)

This is going to be short because the past week was pretty quiet.  We didn’t do much work on designing any furniture for our custom line because yours truly had little to no artistic creativity or inspiration, and I have found that trying to force oneself to be creative is a futile effort.  Neither did we make many sales calls..not sure exactly why though.  We did work on the frame that goes with the custom easel we are building.  The frame was built, sanded, and stained this week. Also, the pieces for the easel arrived on Thursday and Friday, so beginning Monday morning, we will be mortising and tenoning the cabriolet feet to the main turned leg and the cross piece to the turned leg as well.  Should be able to share some photos and deliver it by the end of the week.

The main excitement came at the end of the week when I met with a customer and measured her kitchen for some custom Alder cabinetry.  I am almost certain that we will be tearing out her old cabinets, building the new ones, installing new crown moulding, door and window trim, and baseboards throughout, and designing and building a pedestal base for a kitchen table.  Should be a busy week around the shop, which means next weeks post will be much longer and more visually appealing!
